Vehicles The Government of Canada’s ecoAUTO Rebate Program offers rebates of between $1,000 and $2,000 to those who buy or enter a long-term lease (12 months or more) for a fuel-efficient vehicle. Conventional, hybrids and flex-fuel vehicles are included. The more efficient the vehicle, the higher the rebate. In order to be considered for a rebate, the vehicle must be from model years 2006, 2007, or 2008; and have been purchased or leased from a dealership (not previously registered) between March 20, 2007 and December 31, 2008. Applications must be received by March 31, 2009. The Citizens Bank (1-888-708-7800) offers its members prime rate loans for the purchase of gasoline–electric hybrid and dedicated natural gas vehicles. The loan term is up to five years. The dollar value is up to about $3,000 per vehicle in reduced interest payments. The New Brunswick Lung Association (1-800-565-LUNG) offers incentives to qualified vehicle owners who scrap their 1995 or older vehicle that is currently registered and insured in greater Fredericton, greater Saint John and greater Moncton:
